Meet Attorney & Counselor
Kenton J. Hutcherson
“We understand the precise ways to leverage existing law to find justice for our clients who have been hurt by content on the Internet. It’s satisfying to be able to help people in that situation.”
Kenton J. Hutcherson found his true calling as a pioneer in the field of Internet law. In this focused practice area, he has the opportunity to protect individuals who have been unfairly victimized by content posted online. Overcoming the challenge of applying laws in unforeseen situations, Kenton has carved out a niche in Internet law, and led his firm to prominence in the field, assisting clients from around the country.
His comprehensive approach to research and case management puts clients in a position to succeed. While he excels at persuasive writing that forms the backbone of litigation, he is particularly adept at crafting oral arguments in the courtroom.
When people contact Hutcherson Law for help with an Internet issue, Kenton wants them to know that they’ve come to the right place. Internet law is the sole focus of his firm. That means he and his team understand what clients are facing and how to resolve problems efficiently. Quite simply, they strive to know everything there is to know about Internet law. If a client has lost millions due to online defamation or is afraid to show their face in public because of revenge porn, Kenton and his team know how to turn things around quickly.
Before focusing his practice on Internet defamation, revenge porn, domain name disputes, online copyright infringement, and trademark infringement issues, Kenton amassed litigation experience in related fields including breach of contract, misappropriation of trade secrets, tortious interference, and antitrust law. Because of the unique depth and breadth of his experience in Internet law, he is in frequent demand as a speaker for both legal audiences and professionals in the online industries. He has achieved a range of professional accomplishments within the field of Internet law, including providing legal guidance to clients for online business development and operations, defending clients in intellectual property infringement cases in the online space, and assisting clients in understanding and complying with laws and regulations related to online speech and conduct.
At the University of Chicago Law School, he was recognized as a Heffernan Scholar, and Nagashima Ohno & Tsunematsu Fellow while earning his J.D. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin with majors in the Plan II Honors Program, Economics, and Philosophy.
When not working to help businesses and individuals seek justice for harmful online content, Kenton enjoys a variety of unique intellectual challenges, including competitive poker.
